SMS Tool — Smarter communication at scale
A telecommunications feature enabling users to manage messaging more effectively while reducing costs. My Role: Researched user needs, designed scalable UI components, and integrated prototypes into Storybook. Impact: Reduced telecom fees and improved transparency in user messaging flows. Problem
I revamped a functional SMS tool by adding a standard UI with a playful character illustration. The challenge was balancing functionality with a fun twist, achieved through vibrant design and intuitive elements. This project demonstrates the seamless blend of standard UI principles with creative design.
Solution
I crafted an exceptionally engaging and user-friendly UI that not only complied with design standards but also infused a delightful element of fun through an illustrated character. The character received widespread appreciation, gaining approval from the Design COE for its seamless integration with our established design styles. This project provided valuable insights into innovative ways of introducing characters within a style guide, enhancing the overall design strategy and user experience.

Goal
I had the exciting opportunity to create a more user-friendly UI that adhered to established standards while infusing a touch of fun. Design Process
In this project, our challenge was to replace an existing non-standard UI with a compliant design and incorporate a character for a touch of fun. I began by sketching screens and character ideas, drawing inspiration from SMS tools UI designs. Given that the app's functionality was well-established, our iterations were swift, focusing mainly on UI redesign. To ensure alignment with design standards, we sought input and obtained approval from the Design COE before seamlessly integrating the character, transforming the user experience while adhering to the required UI standards.
